To The Innocence Lost Poem by Peter S. Quinn

To The Innocence Lost

When love was around
Its sweetness was found
In the beautiful days
Of exhibition ways
Now the blues comes in
Every heart to win
To give sadness a tone
And make hearts alone

We were once so young
In our times to long
Giving being each a thought
We once were taught
Over hills and the sea
We wished eternally to be
Carrying wind in the wings
What tomorrow brings

Now we sit with hope
Finding pathways and scope
To the innocence lost
Different time away tossed
