To The Night We Ran Away Poem by Jodie Bawden

To The Night We Ran Away

Cold waters graze icy pebbles.
We stand so near our toes submerge
in the smallest of ripples.

As beautiful creatures do,
we descend into darkness.
White canvases enveloped by rich inks.

Trethvor Kernow cradles us
for we are two entities lost amongst stars.

Each curve of the hand spills diamond melodies,
the blessing of peace in a World of chaos.

To enjoy nothing but this moment.
Our insignificance, life as she intended.

We leave enchanted,
harbouring joyous memories of liberation and youth.

As my eyes turn to close, I remain blissful in the knowledge
happiness starts with best friends like you.
