To Whom It May Concern (C) 11-20-08 Poem by Zahir Kijani

I send this letter out To Whom It May Concern or
To anybody cause a change is all that I yearn for
Maybe you may think I’m just a complainin little girl
But we’ll see who’ll be cryin at the end of the world
I don’t understand how we came as far as Martin Luther King
And back to a race of porch monkies who can only dance and sing
Sometimes I feel nobody out there is really listenin
Or not sick of it enough so they continue their whistlin
I kinda fear that soon I won’t be able to roam the streets
Because the evildoing’ll only throw my family off their feet
I fear this just goes in one ear then extracted through urine
I just wish to fix our mind we’d have some vaccines and curin
If I could I’d die and see if this could be expressed through my will
And don’t worry I have a mop handy in case my heart starts to spill
Is it me or is it that nobody cares
Or else I’m just the only who dares
To be the only kid who has feelings and shares
To speak of the matter that rarely is spoken
It’s on our minds but it seems everybody is chokin
You see world what we’ve come to all from perfection
To always wonderin if you have some protection
Without doubt we’re falling in the wrong direction
It’s scary that the words of my family are always concealed
And half spoken of when someone gets killed
I hate that I have to be part of an emotional slaughter
And you don’t take account of it til someone loses a daughter
I’m ashamed to apart of a race who thinks justice is snitchin
I just believe my people’s mindsets should just begin switchin
Into another way it’s a new time and all new generation
And I’m really startin not to be patient
Or is it the hate that we’re chasin well I’m sick of this racin
To be the winner of group who kills more then Freddy and Jason
I just wish ya were all as real as we learn
So this letter goes out To Whom It May Concern
