So here hath been dawning
Another blue Day:
Think wilt thou let it
Slip useless away.
Out of Eternity
This new Day is born;
Into Eternity,
At night, will return.
Behold it aforetime
No eye ever did:
So soon it forever
From all eyes is hid.
Here hath been dawning
Another blue Day:
Think wilt thou let it
Slip useless away.
I read this marvelous poem in my high school days in Korea. It was in our English textbook. Especially, the second stanza, Out of Eternity/This new Day is born; /Into Eternity, /At night, /will return., has been remained in my memory, perhaps forever. Today, after 65 years, here, I visited this poem again.

When my children woke up grouchy, I would recite this poem. Of course they rolled their eyes. However, it seemed to start the day off on a better foot.
