Today Poem by Thomas Plotz

Today

Today I woke, too early
Blurry eyed, from the night before
Without a sound heard
Went to the kitchen, and browned the bacon
Then ate it with toast
Sat in my chair, looking at fate, stillness of darken sky
Feeling lonely, but my family stanzas, here with hearts,

The only comprehensive note, the ticking
Sound of a wall clock troat,
Swinging, with the pendulum
Swaying, tick, tick, tick
Calms you, too much
Just crank it once per day
It stays, and keeps good time
Good rhythm of rhyme

Today I woke, too early
Blurry eyed, from the night before
I went back to bed instead, slept till noon, and
Dreamed of you
