Today I Stood With Buffalo Poem by Thomas Plotz

Today I Stood With Buffalo

Today I stood with buffalo
Upon their rock, in the sun
Walked steadfast along the snow melted byway
High along the ledge, pledging myself to you
Glancing at your image as I go
Looking at the swift moving, icy river below

Saw six eagles take flight
Turning and skimming over trees
Then gliding out of sight

Closing my eyes, and saw their silence enjoyed
Your voice fills the void, of distance
Bonding love rejoices, with nature when I need you most
Feeding the eternal energy
Within the energy of the buffalo
Standing firm upon your rock
