Today I Watched A Fly - Poem by Kyle Schlicher

Today I watched a fly
as it went about doing
the things flies will do.

It tried its best to steal
a taste of the meal
I was eating.
It would fly around,
land and then take off
as I shooed it away.

But, it would always
come back around as soon
as I turned my attention
to other things.
And then we would go through
the entire scene once again.

I envied that little fly.

Quite unlike myself,
it seemed to have a purpose in life.
