Today (Is Yesterday) Poem by Kevin Patrick

Today (Is Yesterday)

</>Here these words breath of my epitaph
Speak louder than all my deaf sentences.
This discourse is my final truth
Which to your ears translates this ruse

I never failed a test, I meant to past
But never learned respect of circumstance
Confess; humilities been my false pride
The world was made good for evils kind

Maybe it’s too late
I think it’s been a mistake
For the sun seems not to rise
When Today is yesterday

Listen to this before I lose what I mean:

The sky is always Brighter
When the clouds have disappeared
Air is always sweeter
When you’ve washed away your fears
But if you can never look back
Moving forwards onto life’s defence
You’ll stand inside the paralyzed
Under scars that do not compromise

Under the dark side of the sun
Everybody needs a gun
Exploit yourself to stranded words
We’ll all fall down on burning love

Maybe it’s too late
I think it’s been a mistake
Another excuse of bidding time
When Today is yesterday

Listen to this, before I forget what I mean:

Aster lays so tender
Under rays that never sneer
Brookes are always quiet
When gentle winds are always near
Persuade yourself believing
That all wrongs pass in the night
Or wear a badge of broken dreams
Until obfuscations taken fright

There’s a wall inside the space
I could never really trace
My tongue can never hide
The cleverness of others lies
Today is yesterday

Maybe it’s too late
I think it’s been a mistake
Night is nicer when the suns away
Hold me close and I wont Persuade
When Today is Yesterday

Wow....I listened to this. The tongue...that instrument of persuasion. Can today be made yesterday? A great work.
