Today, my love, I'll cry for you
this day of whispered sadness -
Today, my love, I'll touch your heart
and move your pain to gladness.

Don't weep, my love, it hurts me so
to see you deep in sorrow -
Don't weep, my love, for I will try
and ease you through tomorrow.

Tonight, my love, I'll dream for you
soft dreams of golden dawnings -
Tonight, my love, I'll slumber deep
and pray for sweeter mornings.

Don't sigh, my love, don't sigh, don't sigh
Let's smile and laugh together -
There are no wars we cannot fight
No storms we cannot weather.

So come, my love, and walk with me
to where the sun glows brighter -
Come walk, my love, to regions fair
where all the world is lighter.
