Tonight I Held My Future Poem by David Harris

Tonight I Held My Future

Rating: 5.0

The dance floor was crowded
as the music from the rostrum played.
A ladies excuse me was called,
you took my hand and led me onto the floor.
We danced to the tunes that followed
getting closer as each dance went through.
It seemed as if you were never going to let go
and I found myself a partner,
a partner for now and always.
We looked into one another’s eyes
needing nothing to say.
Tonight I held my future
at the ladies excuse me.
The magic prevailed
and the dance floor disappeared
as we kept on dancing
amongst the moon and stars.
We looked into one another’s eyes
needing nothing to say
because we both knew in our hearts
this dance was going to last
for ever and always.
We would dance forever together
through the good times and the bad,
dancing together forever
though to our sunset days.
