Too Busy For Love Poem by Edwina Reizer

Too Busy For Love

Once two lovers climbed a hill
and looking down below
were saddened with the thought
that soon they'd have to go
Back to all the busy-ness
and bustle of never enough time
to leave it to the hurry up world
with never a hill to climb.

For practicality got the better of them
and they forgot about the hill.
They busied themselves on every day
and finally lost the will
to step off the merry-go-round they were on
and find enough time for love.
And never again did they climb the hill
or look down from above.
