Too Good To Be True Poem by Ray Hansell

Too Good To Be True

It wasn't that long ago
That you and I first met
When you said to me
Enough of us you couldn't get

Everything was fine
Between you and I
The love that we shared
Could be seen in our eyes

Then one day you came to me
It was a different you
Something in my heart
Told me we were through

When you left that day
You said, goodbye to me
I knew then and there
There no longer was a we

So, here I am once again
Standing all alone
Knowing that all along
I really should have known

That when something seems too good
To really be that true
I think I should have known
That eventually I would lose you
