Too Late Poem by Timothy Kimmons

Too Late

We were to meet at the local park
on a sunny spring day

But before she got to me
a bullet took her away

She was a little early
and I was a little late

She was in my sight
when that bullet took flight

I rushed to her aid
but to no avail

As her heart came to a stop
mine began to fail
