Too Much Break Poem by bob barci

Is it me or what?
Who else around here
is bored with a two and a half hour lunch break?
I guess it’s okay
if you have something to do
to keep you busy.
But for the rest of us,
it’s just drawn out and boring.
I prefer to
leisurely eat my lunch, relax a bit,
and get right back to whatever.
Whether that ends up being a full hour,
or half an hour, or just fifteen minutes,
that’s perfectly fine with me.
When there’s too much time
to fool around with, it gets boring.
With the two and a half hours we get,
I find myself fighting to stay awake.
The problem here
is having too much time
with too little to do.
Lunch breaks,
I’d rather use them to my advantage
and not have them defeat me.
