Too Shy Poem by Michael Saunders

Too Shy

She is standing right in front of me,
So beautiful and perfect,
I just want to walk up to her,
Talk to her and get to know her,
But I can’t, something is holding me back,
A fear of being rejected, my fear of “no”,

I look at her and sit there,
Telling myself to get up and talk to her,
All I do is stare, staring for minutes,
I want to know her name, where she’s from,
What she does, what she’s like,

I want her to know I’m here,
I want her to notice me,
To know that I like her,

But she will never know,
Unless I tell her,
Unless I get up and talk to her,

Hopefully someday I will overcome,
Overcome my fears and walk up to her,
Tell her how I feel, instead of being a bum.
