Toronto Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Toronto

Once again’s Saturday
It’s Clark and Bathurst
All ladies well dressed

The men are wearing hats
The young ones have Kipa
These saucers with design
Remind past of Chinaware

Six of friends we gathered
We are friend, not by faith
Jewish, X-tian and Muslim

The Jews don’t attend synagogue
The mosque is not for Mussulmen
The church, for long’s abandoned

These friends; through heart, mind
Make the base of this city, Toronto

Toronto is desert, is forest and ocean
It is rich in culture, faiths and shapes

Toronto is a zoo
Birds and beasts
To walk or to fly
Even crawl

You can find everything
That is what is beautiful
