Touch Me Hard Poem by Varghese J Kuttikat

Touch Me Hard

Moses struck the rock
Water gushed out in a stream
Solidity dissolved at the majestic stroke
The hardened heart softened, melted
Compassion constrained within rockiness
Sprang up, streamed forth in measure bounteous
Touch me O Lord, rather harshly, renouncing thy softness
That melodies spring forth from the core of my heart
Deadened with hardness now wherein originally dwelt
Compassion infinite, humanity gracefully exalted
How this hardening tragic occurred is beyond my understanding
Pleading innocence, maybe, vanity slipping into vileness
Sweet Lord, touch me hard, I shall melt into melodies
