Traces
As dawn breaks
My fear arises
My soal aches
As the sun rises
Voices hushed
Secrets hidden
Dreams are crushed
Hopes forbidden
Darkness trickles in
Lights go out
Traces of what has been
Turn into traces of doubt
Very nice as are all of your poems so far Meagan. I hope you continue to submit and to write prolifically. I started writing at a young age and then for a long time I produced so little. I regret it now but you can't go back. So write till you cannot lift a pen and then dictate it to someone else. Great work. Susan
