Trade A Word Of Friendship Poem by Gary James Smith

Trade A Word Of Friendship

Trade A Word Of Friendship

Trade a word of friendship
With those you meet each day
It may brighten up their world
And help them along life's way
Just a token of kindness
An earnest listening ear
They too have a story to tell
Provide that desire to hear

For sometimes in their busyness
Reigns a lonely heart
Craving for some real felt love
While their life is falling apart
And not knowing anything of
The love of God Supreme
Trade a word of friendship
God could use it for His means

"Try a little kindness"
That song it resonates
And impresses upon our heart
The desire to communicate
And share good news to a needy soul
There's a Saviour and He cares
Who can take our brokenness
And do immediate repairs

So in your daily environment
You may meet perchance
A lonely soul upon his way
Who seeks a second chance
God may well have lead you here
A divinely appointed trip
Say a prayer and remember too
Trade a word of Friendship!
