Traditional Roles Poem by Belle Violet

Traditional Roles

Rating: 4.5

Men don't fart
at dinner tables.
Men don't abandon
their dates
at parties
full of strangers.
Men don't trash
their girlfriend
behind her back.
Men don't
chicken out.
Men take care of
their lovers
they aren't shy
to make
the first move
under the covers.
Men don't run away
from their fears
or problems.
Men don't discard women
because they're too afraid
to talk to them.
Men don't hurt women
because it's easier
than saying
they love them.

Let's talk about
the traditional roles
of guys and girls.
And let's
keep score.
