Travel Trial Poem by Grace Diane Jessen

Travel Trial

When we go riding in the car
we seldom travel very far
'til someone says, "I'm warm as toast.
Roll down a window or I'll roast."

The window lets cool breezes in,
but in a minute, sure as sin,
another says, "I hate to moan,
but I am freezing to the bone."

It nearly causes us to fight,
one warm, one cold, and some just right.
Why can't my loving family
have thermostats that all agree?

There's a simple solution, of course: Everyone should get his own horse!

A delightful poem! Perfect rhyme and meter. It's a good thing, though, that all of us aren't exactly alike, isn't it?

This is where the expression comes from: Men are from Mars, women are from Venus. Thanks for the poem.

This is adorable! It caused me to laugh, because it is so true and so typical! (just one of many ways that family members learn patience, compromise, and give-and-take!) :)
