Travelin’ down the highway
On a road carved from the dust
Was a way to search for mobility
Where highways were a must
The road was numbered 66
Made adventure broad and wide
With a thirst for independence
It truly turned the tide
It made the journey much easier
To travel from west to east
As they scraped out that road the hard way
The thirst for travel never ceased
Today you’ll see the markers
To show right where you are
Don’t worry, folks you won’t get lost
Whether traveling near or far
You might see an antique gas pump
And statues along the way
So many sites you’ll come across
Along this historic road today
So, do you want to take ride to see
What your ancestor’s envisioned
You’ll see it’s not a modern freeway
But a needed surveyor’s mission!
