Treasure Of Life Poem by Ahtesham Sham

Treasure Of Life

Nice days were those
When happiness was around
Rainbow-like colors filled the life
And I, like a leprechaun
Sat with my pot of gold

A pot filled with golden coins
Friends, Family and Relations alike
Each brighter than the other
And I was the keeper
Possessor of the world's finest treasure
'A Good Life'
But that all slipped gradually
One after another after another
I saw all that fell on ground
Vanishing right in front of my eyes
There was nothing I could have done
But to only sorrow on my parting coins

Now what remain is an empty chest
Nothing beautiful left in it
Once people envied a casket like this
Now they fear a fate like this
Ah where did all my treasure went?
Does anyone have any hint?

''I may know the cause of your fate
You didn't deserve what you had
It was too much for you
Too much for a soul who is not cleansed
God took what he had given
That treasure was not yours to retain
So, he just rectified his mistake
By taking all what you had''
