It was difficult, if not impossible
When long ago the white men came
For the Indians, their world changed
And would never be the same
They retreated as encroached upon
When the white men quickly ascended
They did not want to live on reservations
As the government forcibly recommended
The battle of Washita was bloody
Many Indians were killed
But that was just the beginning
For their nightmares never stilled
How sad it is as we look back
At what human’s have to endure
For shouldn’t things be equal
On our land so rich and pure?
So as we read back in the history books
Let’s always keep in mind
That everyone deserves equal rights
With peace and happiness for all mankind!
