True Achievements Poem by Dr John Celes

True Achievements

Each human feat is not by own effort;
Each feather in time’s cap is by God’s grace;
Each step you forward tread is God destined;
Each achievement is just not all your own.

One’s perseverance has a role to play;
The spark igniting dreams is from others;
But all must work out well if success smiles;
Self-confidence and toil do help a lot.

The proud have never soared to dizzy heights;
Stark poverty can goad someone to toil;
Mere luck and pluck are not enough to win;
God blesses hearts that make the clay special.

But risks you take must not undo your life;
Accomplishments must help humanity;
By loving neighbors, you love God as well;
Many are heros, heroines unsung!

The lazy person hates to do a thing;
The selfish soul has drawn a circle small;
The man of pride has lost his inner zeal;
The God-believer stuns and makes history.

But hate-filled hearts cannot achieve a thing;
The hair on head is numbered by the Lord;
You cannot add a day to your life-span;
If faith is strong, God blesses each prayer.

Yet, God can pick a shepherd to be king;
And fishermen had become apostles;
Even a sinner worst can turn a saint;
All things are possible to Almighty.

Each human birth is but a miracle;
Each human cell – a factory all alive;
Each molecule is directed by God;
Each life – a perfection of love, divine.

The Universe is monitored by God;
He made all things from time immemorial;
The world canvas is painted by the Lord;
The paint- indelible and eternal.
