True Love Poem by Rik Bertrand

True Love

I have loved and lost, I have given my All.
I have done all this, only to take the fall.
I have given my hand, my soul, and my heart,
and again my life is ripped apart.

How can I find one to be with me and love me true,
one that makes me truly happy and never blue.
I need someone to sing me the lover’s anthem,
and to love me more than I could ever love them.

Life is full of the romantic sort, let that be known.
But I am looking for ever after love, not a love on loan.
My life is quickly passing, time has not been kind.
I know my true love is out there and we will soon be entwined.

Love works in mysterious ways, it has mind of its own.
But when true love catches hold of you, you can built a mighty throne.
A life of love and happiness in a kingdom of your making,
True love will find me very soon, and I will be there for the taking.
