True Tale Over Time Poem by Susan Lacovara

True Tale Over Time

Rating: 5.0

Tempted now to tell the truth
How a man is etched into a heart
Ever deeper than tattooed skin
Generously believing his touch
Rising up to the call of love
Eclipsed by the myths that moved them closer
Attached to the promise of turning the key
Time held them long and far from each other
Perfection was never the intent
Evenings unfolded as dreams often do
Needing only a glimmer of moonlight
Guiding their hearts to surrendered embrace
Untidy tossings of smiles and sweetness
Innocently oblivious to the outside world
Neither of them saw what was coming...
