Trust Poem by Michael Alfonso

Trust

If only eyes were windows to truth
For our open moths are truly not
Our lips speak how we tell them to move
What you want to hear and now forgot

Always smile when you want to scream
Never free to just speak your mind
Life's not fun but we can make believe
Unless, of course, you're not our kind

So many lies are floating in the air
Side by side with words that are true
Everyone knows but no one cares
So tell me now, why should I trust you?
