Trust Me Poem by Giselle Joseph

Trust Me

Rating: 5.0

If you trust me
then take my hand
you cannot discover new oceans
unless you have
the courage
to loose sight
of the shore.
Listen
look into my eyes
your personality
have the power
to open my doors
but your character
is the only key
to keep it open.

Do you believe in love?
the first duty of love
is to listen,
live truthfully
instead of professing it
and carve my name
on your heart
not on marble.

Believe in yourself
Believe in us
no matter what a man's past
may have been
his future is spotless.

I specially like the ending. The idea of a spotless future is a new image to me - and one I find very appealing.

'you cannot discover new oceans / unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore' - a truly inspirational observation. S :)
