Truth Poem by Ikechukwu Ogbuike

Truth

If you are looking for fitting label for a fool
Probably might find it inside a branded package of truth
I am told it's no more to be found within the realms of those who have lost their denture
But in the laps of children who are yet to come to grips with their future
When some say it's relative
It's easy to tell what their priority is
High commerce
High farce
Really, truth about what?
Perhaps something that lasts
Truth is not justice
Which has and will always be abused and misused
More like rain in a time of drought
Little wonder it's not found in the mouth of the loquacious
A drop of rain
On a scorched earth that starts a life …
Is it a mere ruse?
A burst of sunshine
That processes the photosynthesis that grows life
Does it look like a truth?
