Truth Offends Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Truth Offends

Truth offends...
False beliefs.
And it doesn't depend,
On one's maturity.
Many people of today,
Have created lives on fantasy.
Living deluded to include,
What never will be a reality to see.
Slipping away,
From what was true.
Historically.
Yet historically,
What 'is' real to believe?

Minds,
Infected.
And more today accepted.
Minds,
Defected.
And more today decayed.

What is the purpose that is nurtured.
What is the purpose of this served.
