Try, Please Poem by Shae Huston

Try, Please

Rating: 4.0

I’ve walked down that path
Been in her shoes
Watch them tease
I have to choose

Stand up? Should I?
I know what it’s like
A few words here,
A tease and a syke

When I see the tears in her eyes
Another little part of me dies
They soon fall and hit the floor
That’s it, I can’t take it anymore!

This has to stop
And has to stop now,
I don’t know what,
But I do know how,

By standing up
And speaking out
With calm words
But never a shout

If it doesn’t work
Then there’s other ways
Talk, at least try
To meet that innocent gaze

Try, please, for me
I don’t expect you to be tight
But, I know you know
That trying is right

That’s my opinion
Take it if you choose
It’s up to you,
But remember
You have a good friendship to lose

I wrote this poem about a girl in my class that was constantly being bulliled.
