Turn Away In Shame Poem by Pasquale DiMeola

Turn Away In Shame

Hapless strangers dodder the streets
Mutant semblance of time
Saliva drenched by hate they meet
Spat on begging for dimes

Disheveled hair itching with lice
Long divorced from water
Stung with glares as frigid as ice
Your sons or your daughters?
