Turn Out The Light Poem by mae beezwax

Turn Out The Light

Please don’t turn out the light yet
Even though my body’s exhusted
I know I can’t go to sleep
The thoughts in my head will keep
Me awake through the night
I won’t rest until my emotions are set
Tossing and turning my pillow wet
I just can’t stop spilling
Tears from my eye
You fool! He’s a guy!
I’ve made a mistake like this before
And while it had felt so sweet
I was really getting beat
Trashed and used
In my own game
Trying to make a man tame
I came out hopelessly abused
Then came Steve oh, so sweet

Just like out of a tale
He helped me out
He says I did it all
but he’s the one that made my pain small
Oh! Steven don’t you see
My hurt has now set sail
No more cause to toss and wail
No more feelings contending
I can conquer my fear
As long as you are near
And you will always be
When I go pale

You wrap your arms around me with all your might
And hold me close to you
I don’t meen to seem so sappy
But with you I am oh, so happy
Because I know you never lie
Now, you can turn out the light
