Turn The Music Up Loud Poem by Rusty Ed Gibson

Turn The Music Up Loud

I came in here to just forget
Hope this drink will kill the pain
But when it don't I will just get
Another one and maybe your name
Pour me one And turn that knob
Get that juke box ready to rock
Start the songs right from the top
play the music real loud

All the things she ever meant
And all the dreams we ever dreamt
my whole world before the melt
and everything I ever felt
are looping in my head
Pour me another one And turn that knob
Get that juke box ready to rock
Start with hank and run through merle
Wake up old Johnny if you will
Turn the music up loud

This old man was watching me
He tipped his hat at number three
Not long after he sent me one
But I couldn't hear him say a word
All this pain and misery
Only one way to save me
Pour me another one And turn that knob
Get that juke box ready to rock
Start with the Stones and roll through the Haze
Play the music real loud

When all you hear is the grinding gears
Or the burnouts in your tears
Pour another one And turn that knob
Get that juke box ready to rock
Start the list right from the top
Turn the music up loud
