Turn To Me For Comfort, My Child. Look Up! Poem by Macy (Nina) Dvirnak

Turn To Me For Comfort, My Child. Look Up!

Sorrow reigns heavy upon my heart,
Yes, it rains down on my soul.

I am reminiscing my losses-
Remembering my pain.

My world is dark,
And there is no escape!

I am weary of this burden
From it, I try to run-

But, the gloom ensnares me,
It cuts me down-

My head is clouded as my emotions storm,
I am drowning in tears of my own regret.

Alas-
Such is the effect of loved one's deaths.

But, harken-

What am I doing?
Staring at the ground!

I must not look at the mortal end,
But beyond it to eternity.

She, and he-
I miss them dearly-
Simple words cannot explain-

But I have my own life
And mission to fulfill-

I shall carry out God's plan for me,
And happily do His will.

Aye, it has been many a day,
Since two people in my life
Were taken away.

But above my clouds,
The sun still shines-

The Son, He is watching over me.

So I will look up,
Into my Father's eyes.

I will count my many blessings,
I will name them one by one.
I will count my many blessings
And see what God has done

And when life's race is run
My body will fail,
But my soul will fly-

This is my
Eternal joy-

For a child of God Am I.
