T'Was The Beginning Of Christmas Poem by Macy (Nina) Dvirnak

T'Was The Beginning Of Christmas

T'was the beginning of Christmas,
and all through the barn-
Every creature was stirring!
Jesus, our savior had been born!

the Good News rapidly spread,
right there and then-
the promised messiah,
was in Bethlehem!

some shepards were tending their flock in a field,
when suddenly!
God's Glory was revealed!

A great Host of angels split the night,
Worshipping God in song-
and the shepherd's hearts were filled with fright!

Said the angel, Gabriel-
'Do not be afraid! ,
for I bring you Good Tidings of a Great Joy,
Which shall be for all people!

For unto you this day,
in the City of David,
A savior has been born!

And His name is Christ, the Lord.'

'this will be a sign to you-
you will find a babe wrapped in swaddleing clothes
and lying in a manger.

The disciples departed,
right there and then!
their destination, being Bethlehem.

A great star shone in the East,
pointing to where Jesus lay,
apon the hay,
Shining on the Wonderful Counselor-
Mighty God, Immanuel, Prince of Peace!

Meanwhile,
three wise men traveled from afar-
The gazed into the heavens,
and followed the star!

with them they bared gifts
of gold, frankincense, and murr
to offer baby Jesus,
the world's savior!

this all happened in the reign of herod,
A wicked king
thought he- this baby Jesus will ruin everything!

so he spoke to the wise men,
who had stopped-
with an evil grin
Go now, find the babe- that I too, may worship him!

upon hearing this, the wise men again
set off!
quite unaware of King Herod's murderous plot!

Before long,
the shepherds and the wise men arrived.
they gave their gifts and offered praises and song!
they looked upon the face of God-
and trembled in awe, and adored!
for their lay God in human flesh and form-
Jesus Christ, the Lord!

but before they left Bethlahem,
An angel warned-
King herod has evil intentions,
for this babe!
He has issued an order, that all baby boys be slayed!

So they departed in a new direction.

when the wise men never came,
Herod's heart burned in a wicked and angry flame!
not wasting time even a fraction,
King hearo soon got his plan to action!

A lot of male babies died that way,
Herod was the h
Hitler of that day.

however, before Jesus could have ever been harmed,
by an angel, mary and Joseph were warned!
He commanded them to flee-
and they fled as fast as one can-
down to safety, in Egypt Land!

that night-
the beginning of Christmas,
the beginning of all Christmases yet to come-

was the night that God's only Son
escaped death at the time of birth-

so he could fulfill His promise
by dying for all the world-
and thus give new birth and eternal life to everyone!
