Twists And Turns And Smiles And Lies Poem by Rose Kirby

Twists And Turns And Smiles And Lies

Twist, twist, twist…..

Ignore the feeling in your head,
Make your way towards the door,
Tell the guy at the door your dead,
Not that you need life anymore.

Turn, turn, turn……….

Act like nothing’s going on,
Take the stranger by the hand,
Tell her the gospel according to John,
And tell her all about your band.

Smile, smile, smile.

Lead her by the hand to your hotel suite,
Run your fingers through her hair,
Watch her smile as you tell her she’s sweet,
Hear her gasp as you tell her you care.

Lie, lie, lie.
