Two Hearts Poem by Tonette Guzman

Two Hearts

Touching a hand that pulls away
Looking in your eyes I see the love you don't feel for me
Sharing a kiss that yearns for a different taste
Laying my ear on your chest, I hear a heart that skips a beat for someone else
Holding you close I feel the distance between
Laying next to me, a person that doesn't want to be near
A head that knows the truth with a heart that denies
Forced to face the realities of lies
Pain is all I feel
Stuck with feet that won't walk away
I have no where else to go
Unable to prevent the inevitable, I fall
Here it is, Take it! It's yours
A heart that's not your own but belongs to you
