We fight so hard against ourselves
Who we are, but not really.
The instinctual man,
and the spiritual man.
Can we ever work in harmony?
I've seen those who give in.
Who in their carnal state,
Make choices for pleasures part
And loose their spirits take
We fight so hard to make it work
To let us be one, but two.
The instinctual man,
and the spiritual man.
Can we ever really separate?
I've seen the ones,
Who in pursuit, of spirits righteous glory,
Have lost the world and people too
In quests so noble and holy
We fight so hard to stay alive,
With battles raging in us
The instinctual man,
and the spiritual man.
Are different for a reason
I've seen my friends,
Who tell me why, this war has been contrived,
'Cuz without both, we'd never have
A choice to make inside.
