Two Metres Apart Poem by Phil Soar

Two Metres Apart

I distance myself everytime I go out
If I meet someone local, then I have to shout
They all wonder what I'm doing out and about
Shouting out loud every time I go out

If I stay inside then I am liable to think
What happens if my eyes stopped needing to blink
I should'nt stay inside, that's what I think
Wondering if my eyes might forget to blink

I'm distancing from everyone that I know
Two metres away, and moving quite slow
I'm distancing but I've got nowhere to go
Keeping away from the folks that I know

It's like I have farted and everyone heard
They're keeping their distance and passing the word
That I am quite smelly, I think it's absurd
Because I just farted and everyone heard
