Unbroken Poem by Jessica Gabanyic

Unbroken

Rating: 5.0

My heart was broken,
With the pieces scattered across the floor,
My memories were lost,
Forgotten in the forest of my depression,
My love was misunderstood,
Tried by the people who abused it so,

However it may be,
I’ll keep on fighting,
For what makes me happy,
The people who gave me courage
When I had nothing left,
The words of love,
When I couldn’t love myself,
But most of all,
The people,
Who stayed beside me when I needed them most,

My heart was broken,
But it’s been stitched together,
The scars that cover it
Are battle scars I show proudly,

My memories renewed,
By the people I love dear,
Who never left when I begged them to go,
My depression defeated,
No longer my weakness,

But my love was restored,
It shines brighter with the ones who love me,
No longer alone,
I’m free to love,
To create a world
Where no one can enter,
But those I let in
