Uncertainty Poem by Emmanuel Arunee Mwanza

Uncertainty

I hear whispering voices
Voices of pain and uncertainty
They come
They keep coming
They keep growing
Growing louder
Wait...I take back... These aren't just whispers
These are songs
Sang by the multitudes
They keep growing, louder and louder, the whispers
Sounds of souls in despair
Wondering if this will end or when it will end
These are voices of souls
Wandering within their homes
Nowhere to go
For fear has gotten them imprisoned in their on homes...
No...wait...not imprisoned...but for survival
For the sake of others too
I hear whispers, maybe, you hear them too
They come from nowhere
They are just inside the head
These are tiny thoughts lying haphazardly
Waiting to be solved like a puzzle
For I am puzzled, like many are puzzled...
Will we survive, will we end this?
The sounds keep growing,
I hear them closer and closer they come and louder they get
Each passing day, is for more uncentainty
