Under That Tree Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Under That Tree

Under That Tree

My friend and I were in a daze.
Were in the same place now as we were just a while ago?
That tree unlike my friend knew each other well.
But that was a year ago.

My tree and my friend were now in a new circle of friends.
So we were all enjoying ice-cream cones.
Ha, ha, ha, how the tree laughed
And we made a royal mess splashing the ice-cream around
The leaves, the grass and around our money.
