Under The Pine Trees Poem by Dr Shamim Ali

Under The Pine Trees

Under the pine tree, I sat and wept,
My heart heavy and my spirit kept,
The tears flowed like a rushing stream,
And sorrow seemed to be my only theme.

The tree around me reached out their arms,
And wiped my tears with their gentle charms,
Their branches rustled in the breeze,
And whispered words of hope and peace.

As I looked up, the clouds appeared,
And to my surprise, they neared,
They asked me why my heart was sore,
And promised to help me, evermore.

The clouds pledged not to let it rain,
As my tears were enough to sustain,
They said they would stay by my side,
And in them, I could safely confide.

So, I smiled, though my heart still felt pain,
And thanked the trees and clouds, for their gain,
For in that moment, I found some solace,
And felt the warmth of their loving embrace.
