Underpaid Poem by Eman Awad

Underpaid

I'm not even looking at you,
don't say i'm sad,
i'm not sad,
i'm just shocked, i'm..... broken.

I haven't started to cry yet,
don't say i'm mad,
i'm not mad,
and my words aren't even spoken.

Don't talk to me any more,
just don't ask how i've been.
You know i'm feeling soar,
don't provoke me to begin.
I've done you a favour, one day,
and look how you repay me now.
I was hurt and you walked away,
and i just can't forget any how.
I've given you a heart,
i've given you a truth, in a world full of lies.
I've given you a start,
and suddenly life changed before your eyes.
Don't make it better, don't underestimate my pain,
to get broken this way by you, it's hard.
For a minute there i thought i've given you a name,
and i can't see through you, it's so dark.
I'm not the type who resume after a heart break,
i'm not coming back, i don't want a part in this play.
Love stands the test of time, you die for it's sake,
but you die for you own sake, that's why i can't stay.
You should've made my dream come true,
but you made all of my dreams to fade.
Looking at all i've given to you,
i think i was too kind and i was underpaid...
