Unfailing Lamp Poem by Obed dela Cruz

Unfailing Lamp

Unfailing Lamp, not fearing darkness for I have Light.
No wrath of cold, no wrap of fear can ever outstand.
The light of day may sometimes evade to the dark night
But this Lamp continues to shine in my Father’s hand.

Undimmed by ages, such glory and splendor made known
Through the eyelids of the morning and dreams of the stars.
Melting candles fade and leave wandering souls alone
But the Blaze lives on even over the reds of wars.

Broken hearts darken when the sight of love cannot see
While in deep mysteries of the tears shed in darkness.
The days of youth turn dim when time comes to scarcity
But this Lamp can make the prudent wiser than sages.

Unfailing Lamp, Unfailing Breath, O Eternal Grace!
Walk with me once more as I carry You in my heart.
No more fears, no more doubts, free at last with You always!
Illuminating, life was given a brand new start.
