Unforgetable Poem by Megan Tucker

Unforgetable

Vulnerability struck an envious heart,

one willing to love,

one easily to shaken by storm.

Just so fragile and ready to fall apart.

Glued and sewed together one to many times,

dragged around like a rag doll being the partner of yet another love crime.

Days growing longer,

..and we’re growing closer now.

This crowded room only feels like your the only one next to me,

because you were the one holding my hand just so tight,

repeatedly whispering that “It’ll be alright”.

No one can pretend this doesn’t exist,

love has died way too many times,

but our love has always been alive.

We were never meant to be,

I’m a girl and I could never love a boy.

Can’t you see its her that is right for me?

She was the one night after night,

the one I ran to fight after fight.

..And when it starts to rain,

I know the sun will show again to save me from a violent storm.

That sun being her warmth that never leaves me and makes me feel so empty.
