Unforgotten Paradise Poem by Kimberly Polk

Unforgotten Paradise

Walking along the river,
in which I have been through so many summers
where I learned to swim,
Build dams,
and make mud pies.
I realized I lived most of my life
on this peace of land,
It is almost like its sketched into my heart and never wanted me to forget..
All the friends, Family, and....
The fun I shared with it;
Like if I left I would loose a piece of me.
A piece that could be left...
but never forgotten.
The sand, the water, the woods....
Surrounding my paradise,
will always be within me
Never to be forgotten.
To be enjoyed even when I'm so far from it.
To be loved........
Cherished.....
By someone who belongs to it.
That is to be separated from it could,
and most likely would break my heart.
To forget the bond to nature
to this piece of land,
will be unbelievable, and impossible for me to do.
