Sally had the ability to gather and hoard
When she saw something was thrown out
She would scoop it up and take it home…
To the idea of accumulating she was devout
Her home was filled with boxes and lids
Inside her treasures were unnamed
What was within was anyone's guess
Perplexity grew the more she reclaimed
Towers began to grow up to the ceiling
Stacks and stacks of this and that
With redeeming qualities… building a maze
One day she could not find her cat
Could it be that while she was obtaining
her precious pet became hopelessly lost
Here Kitty-kitty was heard loudly throughout
From her treasure house items were tossed
Forming a huge mound that reached high
People passing by gazed with displeasure
Sadly the discarded heap did not reveal Kitty
Sally's loneliness was too big to measure
In her emptied home…Sally sat exhausted
Her search had ended…no meowing was found
Unhappiness filled the house and her sad heart
Until she heard a slight claw scratching sound
Opening the door, You Know Who, scampered in
Where had her feline friend been all this while?
The secret is steadfastly locked in Kitty's mind
As he freely walks around… surveying with a smile
